Referral Process

• The referral is received by the Centre Manager at NRS Child Contact Centre
• A desktop risk assessment is completed by the centre.
• Parents (if estranged this will be completed separate and will be invited into the office or the pre-visit meeting maybe completed virtually by either Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
• The Centre Manager will ask a series of questions to enable her to make a full judgement on the case and enable NRSCC to complete their own risk assessment.
• Once both meetings have been completed, with no significant risks identified, contact can then be scheduled.
• The centre has two separate entrances and transitions are managed by the centre team; parents do not meet upon arrival/departure. We also stagger arrival and departure times to ensure that parties do not meet
• Wherever possible we will organise that there are only two caseworkers allocated so that children and parents become familiar with the supervisor.
• Parents are responsible for the safety and wellbeing of their children for the entirety of the session
• Supervisors will support the contact session and record all information and content of the session
• Written reports will be made available to the person commissioning the service
